  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2014 that will occasionally make a squealing type sound coming from somewhere under the hood.

I can't easily replicate it. Sometimes it happens when I start the car. Sometimes after I turn the car off. Sometimes when I'm driving down the road, and sometimes when I'm just sitting at a light or I just parked the car.

I had it in at the dealer for something unrelated and asked them about it and even showed them a video so they could hear the sound. Of course, they couldn't find anything.

I was hoping someone else had this issue and can tell me what it may be.

Attaching a video as well from this morning so you can hear it. At one point I reved the engine to see if that would stop it, but no luck.

I'm unable to attach the video, so I hope this url to Youtube works!

Thanks!

Take it to the dealer. They'll find it easily. Your car has a turbo engine which adds another level of complication. Don't procrastinate getting it looked at. Play your video to the service manager.

Thank you. I've already shown the video to the dealer and they didn't know what it was, but I can try again and possibly try a different dealership.

If this is the sedan, check the idler pulley. A number of us have had to have that replaced.

it's the coupe....but hey, won't hurt to mention it :) Thanks!
