  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello fellow GENESIS OWNERS I recently purchased a 2010 4.6 after selling my 2004 BMW 745li. I wanted a Genesis because custom cars are a really big deal within my circle, and just about every other powerful vehicle has been done to death. I have owned a few foreign luxury vehicles, all with moderate miles on them and repairing them can get extremely expensive. The genesis looks and feels expensive and luxurious. I went with 22's on the vehicle because they just look sexier and I love to push the limits...this vehicle seems to ride better with the rims because the bounce factor is minimized.

I would prepare your flame suit.
Sorry just not for me. 22s are way too big. They didn't look bad on the 7 but not on the Genny.
25 sidewall? I hope your roads are pothole free.

Definitely not a fan, I do enjoy big wheels but I don't think the Genesis works with anything larger than a 20", and that is already pushing it.

Only because you asked will I say, "WRONG".

22's may be good in some areas, but not in Canada where I live. I find the 18's to be a bit jarring sometimes because of the road conditions in Toronto.
I do like the look though.

those are hot i like the machined look...i got an amazing deal on the set I have thats why i went with those.

Most of the folks on this board are going to agree with me that anything over 19" is overkill on the Genesis.

And that's because we're old, grumpy old farts who like classic styling - not "vanilla" styling - that's for the Avalon forum.

Anyways, that's what attracted us to the Genesis in the first place.

When it comes to taste in cars (and accessories), I always say, "to each his own".

Hey who you calling grumpy? :)

I have to disagree since I stacked my Genny with 20's and YUP, that puppy is looking SWEET! Just check out my album

I like the wheel style but I'm sorry to say not a big fan of the oversize wheel with tiny sidewall look. Personally, I'd be deathly afraid of "curb rash" ruining the wheels...

What is the purpose of putting a larger diameter wheels on any car (passenger)? Is it aesthetics or does it have a functional purpose?

Personally I don't like great big wheels like on the OP's post.

This my input on the subject... just the reseach i did in terms of tire size being close to OEM specs. The R-spec with the sidewall of 45 and rim size of 19 then going to 22, a sidewall of 30 (235/30/22) (255/30/22) would be close to specs. The only thing is the number of VIP style wheels in that size. The only brands that carry 22s (that i like) are Vossens, VIP Modular, Work, BC Forge, and Brada Wheels. IMO unless you have and R-Spec, 20s should be the max, but nevertheless, do you regardless.

Those look absolutely perfect. Great job.

OP size looks good, not my style but I love big wheels.

IMO unless you have and R-Spec, 20s should be the max.

R-Specs have the exact same body and lines as the V6s. The only difference is the badge on the trunk. If it looks ok on one model it will look the same on another.

22s are way too big IMHO. It's approaching donkish. My personal opinion is that 19" is the largest you should go unless you're lowering the car, in which case up to 20" looks good.
