Stains from Bradford Pear Tree...

Does anyone have any insight on how to remove pome (fruit of the bradford pear) stains from the hood and roof? I have a black Genesis and a rainforest green Palisade and these stains are from the Devil. I've tried Goo Gone and that didnt work well. I heard that Mighty Boss Cleaner works well. Does anyone have any history using this product? If not, are there any other suggestions?

Sad to say, you probably need professional assistance. Someone that has the chemicals, equipment and rubbing compound to remove these stains. If that fails, you're looking at color sanding.

Have you tried unscented alcohol-based hand sanitizer? Yes, there’s plenty of it around these days. I like Purell. It removes tree sap. Be sure the surface is cool. Blot on with a cotton pad, let sit for a few minutes, and gently wipe off. Then wash the area.

Next, get your chain saw and remove that nasty tree.

mineral spirits are mild as compared to other solvents. Been using it for many years for tough tree sap and road tar stains.
Never had an issue. Wipe on wipe off. Don't be an idiot and leave it on a rag on your vehicle for a while.

As a last resort, I've used brake clean on many surfaces to remove odd stains. It's a solvent that works great on oil based stains. Best to spray on a rag then rub the stain. Don't spray directly on the paint. Test in a door jam area first to see if it removes any sheen. If it does, you can always buff it out. Brake clean is fantastic on removing stains from carpet and it won't mess with the color.

Just went through this today. I had to use detailing solution/lubricant with Clay Bar. For the larger spots, I used a walnut shell scrubber (like a scotchbrite, but softer). It worked with a lot of elbow grease. I have a White Genesis GV70 and it took about 2 hours to do the hood, side, back, and roof. Will never park under a Bradford Pear tree again.
