  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Start of Edmunds' long-term test of the 3.8

Not sure how they come up with a 5k$ premium for the 4.6 Their 3.8 stickered at 40k and the 4.6 w/tech is 42k.

simple math, gets you every time.

They're comparing the base price of the V6 to the base price of the V8 and not taking into account the fact that the V8 comes standard with all the stuff included as part of the V6's Premium & Premium Plus packages. Not exactly a fair comparison, but worth pointing out for buyers who don't want/need the additional features that come standard on the V8.

Well somewhere they should note that decked out as they received it the v6 is only a 2k discount to the v8, they don't mention the v8 price, reading that article you would believe the v8 is 45k

Driving through the snow PART 1:
2009 Hyundai Genesis: A 790.2 Mile Run to the Snow Part 1

This weekend I drove our 2009 Hyundai Genesis V6 790.2 miles from Los Angeles to Mammoth Lakes and back. Sking was the point, but I found true love and admiration for our long-term Genesis sedan.

This car is nothing short of fantastic. And I say that with no "for the price" qualifier. It's just fantastic. After two six-hour days behind the wheel, with the entire Oldham family onboard and the trunk full of our winter garb, I have so little to complain about that I'm seriously considering the purchase of a Genesis sedan as the Oldham's next familymobile.

Hyundai has crafted a true luxury sedan. The Genesis is fun to drive, supremely comfortable and artistically assembled. This is a BMW 7 Series for those of us that are not on Obama's bailout plan.

Mammoth Lakes is about 300 miles northeast of L.A. The town is at some serious elevation, between 7,000 and 10,000 ft., but the Genesis never felt wheezy. The 290 hp V6 is more than enough.

I thought this was a cool bus. Literally old school, with 4WD and chains.

The scenery on the way the Mammoth is spectactular. I also think the Genesis is easy on the eyes. There isn't much original design going on here (I see parts of the Benz S-Class, the Infiniti G, the Acura RL, the BMW 5 Series and the Lexus LS.), but it works. Good looking sedan with just the right stance.

I think there is a fundamental issue with Edmund's review. That is, the car is provided by the Manufacturer. Some of their cars were purchased by Edmunds but most of test cars are given to Edmunds.

What if the car was carefully selected?
I like to discuss this topic carefully.

I think this very issue makes Edmunds.com's long-term review bit flawed.

Response: Start of Edmunds' long-term test of the 3.8

Because of the car mags and especially Edmunds, I gave the Genesis serious condsideration and bought one.`
Edmunds has their reputation to protect and I think they are pretty straight up.
