  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If my car won't start with the push button because the rear brake relay or whatever it is that causes that problem, will it start by pushing the fob into the slot?
I don't know if I just got lucky today, or if thats a standard procedure. It has been in the shop twice already but its intermittent.

Usually putting the keyfob in the slot (for some early Genesis models that have a slot) addresses the problem of a low battery in the keyfob. I don't recall that it fixes any other problems.

The problem of the car not starting because it could not detect that the brakes were being applied (even when they were), was an issue, but I was aware it can be fixed by the keyfob slot. But I don't claim to be an expert on that.

Hi Mark
Thanks for replying, but you confuse me. In your first sentence you say the slot only works for a low keyfob battery. In the second sentence you say the slot will work for a brake issue? Did you possibly mean "not" aware?
