Update on my post above: according to the second dealer, one of the support brackets had bent and widened (essentially only on the one axis) a bit to allow for the play in the wheel. Unfortunately instead of replacing the part they just bent it back into compliance and properly torqued the fastening bolts. It's fixed for now, hopefully it stays fixed in the long-term.
On another semi-related note: this dealership experience was a significant improvement over my first. I was provided a loaner, the shop completed work late in the day on Friday and I was able to pick it up Saturday at which point it had been washed, (twas quite bug-ridden on the front end) vacuumed and even the dash wiped down. It was already sitting inside the service drive through bay, and I received my paperwork neatly folded inside a bi-fold Genesis folder. THIS was a true Genesis experience over your standard Hyundai treatment. Looks like this will be my preferred dealer from here on out!
Yep, the whole column including attached bezels and switches. Still solid after the fix. Now if only my last warranty repair parts would ever come in...ntmehan, can you confirm.. the steering wheel will move left-to-right by 2-3mm? Mine does that.
i'm having the same problem looks like i need a new steering column. tilt steering doesn't work and the light switch stock will flicker if in the auto mode.
