  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2014 Equus. My grandson spilled some coke down into the control console and now my buttons were sticking. Took it to my dealer and they suggested that I try to clean the button with alcohol. I did as they suggested and the buttons did free up but now when my screen comes with the safety advisory message, when I push down on my selector, the message won't go away. I talked to my dealer and he said that electronically everything is working fine.... no error messages of any kind. He thinks the selector is still just sticky and that is why it isn't still working. Any suggestions?

I bought my 2014 Equus with my buttons on the right side sticky already. With the cupholders right there, I assume the previous owners spilled something in there. My Map/GPS buttons stay pushed in sometimes. Hopefully over time, the problem will fix itself. Other than buying a whole new assembly, I don't another fix.

I wonder if something like contact cleaner would help and not do any damage?

I have a 2011 and my friend spilled Coke on the ride height button, which made it sticky. I sprayed glass cleaner around it and let it sit for 5 minutes and wiped the remaining off. Its no longer sticky and it still functions properly.
