  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 3.8 tech. After I pull into my garage I would like to turn off the engine but keep the radio on until I open the door. Is this possible?

Hit the start/stop engine button twice. Open door, then hit it twice again to turn off the radio.

(no, it's not the answer you were looking for)

You're right, that's the process I'm trying to avoid!

Hit the start/stop engine button twice. Open door, then hit it twice again to turn off the radio.

Only other option I know of is to put the transmission in Neutral instead of Park before shutting off the engine. The stereo system will continue to play. When ready to really shut everything off, you'll have to hit the START button a time or two (foot not on the brake pedal) and then put the transmission in Park (foot on the brake now).

edit: take a look at this thread for some other quirks about the stereo on/off stuff.

Unfortunately no. GM and Ford seem to have all their cars do this, but most other makes don't offer this feature.
