  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone hear as to when the 2013's start arriving at the dealers? Are they going to wait until the existing inventory gets lower? Last year the 2012 arrived in May.

The dealers are mum - they don't want you to wait, they want to sell existing inventory.

My dealer is expecting them in September, though if I was purchasing a new one I'd surely wait for the fully redesigned Genny in 2014 (late 2013) which is when I'll replace my current 2010. I'm just hoping they don't make it look like a super large sonata or the new Azera, personally I like this body style and hope they don't get to crazy with it.

It needs a fully updated electronics package to include a user accessible hard drive storage (as good as solid state is becoming this should be easily doable...something in the 128-256gb range), better quality leather seating, Blind Spot monitoring, fine tuning of the LDWS, full LED lighting on the mirrors (not the strips which are barely visible in the sun), and to have the blinkers moved back to the outside corners of the car (whoever thought of their current positioning should be shot lol). There is a short laundry list of other things I would love to see done to make this even a better car then it already is.

Seems like the '12's showed up for sale around early July. When I looked at purchasing- the '12's were there but marked "not for sale". Seems like the 13's should be out by now.

Last year, the 2012's arrived in June in St. Louis area. Perhaps each market area receives the pending model year at different times based on some confidential criteria. Sales? Inventory? Expressed interest?

Regardless, I have to agree with Parrot... They want to sell existing stock, not use an order or stock-transfer chit. Btw.... I'm waiting to see the '13s myself. Here's hoping for each of the aforementioned MY updates, and agreed also re the hope that Gens avoid the ubiquitous Fluidic Swoosh concept; enough of that already.

2012 was a moderate refresh, so it was available when it was done (based on design, testing, tooling, manufacturing, etc).

2013 is expected to be almost identical to 2012, so it may be closer to traditional model year cut-over date of September, and maybe later depending on 2012 inventory levels.

Since 2014 is slated to be major redesign, it will also come out when finished, and if the date slips a little, could be a 2015 that comes out in early 2014.

Of course, I could be wrong about all of this, since I have no inside knowledge of what will happen.

The 2013 is on sale. I believe the only visible change will be the 5.0 replaces 4.6 on the rear right and the V6 and V8 models look similar with same wheels and interior.

On sale in the US?

It's not on Hyundai's website for sale as of today, I'd think we would find it there just the same as they did last year having both the 2011 and 2012's available to select from for purchase.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I was at my local Hyundai dealership today to address a problematic tilt steering column (again!) and was given an 2012 R-Spec to drive while it's in the shop.

The salesman that I know did mention to me that last week they were in a meeting with their regional sales manager who told them all that the 2013 Genesis sedan will go on sale this fall and be offered with AWD.

Apparently the brass at corporate have been tight-lipped about this feature as well as the release date, but the source seems reliable.

I guess I'll have to wait and see whether this is a smoke screen or reality come Fall. My lease is up in February so the timing might be excellent.

That's interesting news! I visited my Hyundai dealership last night and spoke with a salesman about the 2013s -changes and arrival dates. He was generally clueless, but said he heard that the 13's would be essentially unchanged from the 12s. Then again, I'm sure he was really hoping that I'd hear that and jump at one of his on-lot 2012 cars. Some insanely great deals on the remaining 2012s are coming, so I might... but I'm going to wait to see what the '13 MY brings first.

Typically all dealers are clueless on purpose, as that's Hyundai's typical game: say nothing and then a dealer realizes that they have a new model being shipped to their facility on the latest manifest with no forewarning.

I'd guess this is deliberate for that exact reason - sell what you've got, but frankly it doesn't ever work on a guy like me. I know as much as I possibly can well in advance so as to make the best decision I can when the time is really right.

I still take what was said to me with a grain of salt 'til I actually see formal news or a specification list on a website to validate it, but do think that an AWD equipped Genesis sedan with DUAL cooled front seats is in the making. I'd also like to see if they're including Bluelink on the newer model, as A2DP Bluetooth streaming audio is one of those things that is sorely missing from the lineup, even though it is available on the Azera and Sonata. I've seen pictures of a revised DIS wheel layout for the buttons around it with the Bluelink being at the bottom right, but again have yet to see anything formal.

Pretty much not going to happen.

AWD won't be available until the 2G Genesis sedan and the planned launch (Korea) was going to be sometime in the 2nd half of 2013.

Now, Hyundai is supposedly feeling some heat from the Quoris/K9 as well as the imports so they may move the Genesis launch forward, but still, at best, that would be a late 2012 launch in Korea w/ the US launch not until 2013.

I'm not sure why a regional sales manager for the Midwest would be telling his dealers/salespeople otherwise. That's why I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's in store when they actually start arriving.

Just found this article from June 8th.... Looks like the 2013 Sedan will have some nice updates to the electronics, LED headlights, Bluelink, cooled pass seat, etc....

I think this information is specific to the Korean market, and the NA market probably will get a dulled down version as usual (probably to ensure a lower price tag for U.S. consumers).
