  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

 Currently waiting for VW to pay me off for 2 TDI's. Are there any differences between the STOCK 16,17,& 18 model years for features - auto braking etc??
Thanks bill

no 16 availible. 17 is running out as 18s are coming so you can get a good deal on them. 18 only change should be the rims on the v6 and the addition of a different transmission, 360 camera, wireless charger and full led headlights(not on base trim).

Even thought the 2016 is a Hyundai Genesis, and not a 2017 Genesis G80, they probably have more in common with each other than they do with the 2018 G80. I expect there to be some sheet metal and lighting changes on the 2018. In addition, "some" of the changes announced for the G80 Sport will probably show up on the regular 2018 G80. Should be by about July or August last I heard.

i just got the sport. its a completely different car. MUCH better than the v8 honestly.

Ultimates for 2018 also get CarPlay and Andriod Auto.

I believe on the 2017 5.0 they deleted all the rear sun shades. They could still be had on the 3.8 with an option package. Don't know if they came back on the 5.0 in 2018.

Rear sunshades are still present. 2016 and 2017 don't have too many differences besides the Branding. There are actually several 2018 G80s in dealerships throughout the country. Genesis released a statement with all of the new changes here: http://www.genesisnewsusa.com/en-us/releases. In my opinion, if you can get a lower lease/buy with the 2017, you may not be missing out on too much. Standouts for me are wireless charging, an extra USB port, and the change in the grill, but none of those motivated me to wait for a rebate to be available or the car to show up in my area. Just got a 2017 today for a sweet sweet deal by letting them know that the 2018s were already hitting the dealerships as well (they weren't even aware yet until I showed them a pic)

I have no idea why the US G80 5.0 doesn't have rear sun shades. All the Canadian G80s have them regardless of trim.

Only the G80 Sport has the sunshades. All the plain jane G80 did not, regardless of motor choice.
At least that's what I saw at my dealership the other day.
Florida is a long way from Canada.

That's wrong. Per the new brochure, all 2018 G80's with Premium Package and above get the Power rear window sunshade and Manual rear side-window sunshades - regardless of engine choice.

It is sad that Hyundai eliminated the rear sunshade on some of these vehicles. I use mine all the time. I have it go up automatically when I shut off the car and down when I start it up.

My new '17 G80 5.0 does not have the rear window shade. According to the '17 brochure, the 3.8 Premium and Ultimate packages include it, while the 5.0 does not. Instead of two buttons on the far right of the control panel on the driver's right, one for DSC and the other for the shade, there is only a taller button for the DSC.

An odd delete. Raise the price & remove a nice feature.

Wow. How do you do this?

I use a couple of timer relays to simulate pushing the switch. I also automatically turn on the heated/cooled seats the same way. If you give me your email address, I can send detailed wiring to you. You should be able tro use a similiar strrategy to setr sport/eco mode on startup and other features that require pushing a button.

Thanks! Meet Molly:

She does 0 - 45 mph in 1 sec.; AWD; naturally aspirated.

My 2017 G80 3.8 (Ultimate trim) has the rear sunshade. I believe only the 5.0 doesn't have the rear sunshade.

Yeah, that makes no sense to me either on the 5.0 model. You would think that the V8 Ultimate would be the very top of the line. Guess it is the same deal as not having Apple Car Play and Android Auto in the Ultimates....just one of those things they decided to do.
