  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently leased a brand new 2023 Genesis 70 with less then 2000 miles. I recently had problem with my sensors. It took several weeks to get an appointment and when I did the dealer took several days to inform me that the sensor wired were chewed by rodents and it would take several weeks to make the repair. The service manager told me that his department on average is getting 3-4 cars a month
With chewed wires. He explained to me that Genesis/ Hyundai has replaced the plastic covering these wires, and now using material, made out of soy which, unfortunately attracts more rodents then normal. He recommended people should register a complaint with the manufacture since this is a problem. None of the repair cost are. Covered under my car warranty. It would cost several thousand dollars to repair and I would be without my car several weeks in order to get the materials and make the repair. I was also informed that my car insurance company need to get in touch with the service department to pay for the repair. This could happen again and I do not to keep
The car and want my down payment back. I am six months into my lease approximately pay $590 including Florida tax per month.
I am going to inform my insurance company and also File a Florida Lemon Law case if I do not get satisfaction and made whole.

It's not just the sensor wiring, it is all the wiring.
You are complaining to the wrong people. You need to complain to the politicians that have enacted the laws that prevent the use of the older, less rodent attractive wiring insulations. The car makers would love to use the older (and usually less expensive) stuff, but they are no longer allowed to due to environmental concerns.

Maybe, but the Toyota class action lawsuit was thrown out.

Maybe the lead in the older insulation caused them to forget were the car was so they couldn't go back for more, minimizing the damage?
