  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Bluetooth on my 2015 has been working fine since I bought the car two years ago. To be honest, I don't remember if it answers automatically or I have to press the receive button.
For the last month when the phone rings (through the car loudspeakers) and I press the receive button, the call gets sent to my phone rather than the car speakers via Bluetooth. If I don't press the receive button the call turns off unanswered.

I cannot see anything on my phone, a old LG dumb phone, or the Genesis control panels that could change this.

Any ideas or explanations?

Did you happen to hit the "Private" button? I don't know if it stays like that until you switch back or not.

Switching call to the mobile
phone
1. If you want to switch the call to the mobile
phone while talking on the car handsfree,
press [Use Private].
As shown below, the call is switched to the
mobile phone.
2. If you want to switch the call to the car
handsfree while talking on the mobile
phone, press [Use Handsfree].
The call is switched to the car handsfree.

Reboot your phone first, that solves 95% of problems where the phone and car don't communicate correctly like this.

I believe you must answer the call manually.

Thanks

I did not see where the "private" box was x'd but according to the explanation- this just block you phone data from uploading to the car.
Reboot did nothing.

Curiously, sometimes in does answer on Wifi

I cannot find the image EdP posted, either on setup or the phone screen. Have a 2015 3.8. Where do you find this?

That should pop up on the screen when a call comes in or in use. I have the Ultimate but other trim may be different since the screen is.

no wonder I could not find it- will look for it next call- but does this mean that the default mode is sending the call to my phone?

I have no idea. I'd get a friend, wife, child, neighbor and have them call a few times while you sit in the car and see how it works.
