  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I normally use the 'Auto' position for the Wipers, but yesterday I was driving in fairly heavy rain and used the 'Lo' and 'Hi' positions. They worked as expected while I was driving in normal traffic. When I got on the highway and was driving 65 MPH, they were opposite. When in the 'Lo' position, the wiper speed was fast and when I switched to the 'Hi' position, they slowed down. I tried it several times and it was consistent.

When I got off the Freeway and slowed down for traffic, the 'Lo' and 'Hi' worked correctly. Back on the Freeway, they worked in reverse again. I can't find anything in the manual that would explain this and I will mention it at the next service. I didn't experiment to find out what speed cause the reversal.

Am I missing something? Has anyone else seen this behavior with their Wipers? Any explanations?

dond13,
Yes, I actually had a weird experience with my wipers while in the auto mode. Mine was a little different though. It started to rain lightly and the slow/fast setting was on fast so I dialed it down to slow. That worked briefly when from nowhere the wipers started to go so fast I thought they were gonna fly of the car. I turned the on the normal setting then later it started to rain harder so I went back to auto and the wipers set to fast they went slow. Good news is since then they seem to be working correctly. But I do think there is a possible glitch in the auto mode. When I go to the dealership for next service I will tell them about it and maybe they will find something.
