Last night my power was out at the house so I decided to go drive around. I have the 3.3 RWD, running the JB4 on Map 2, got some fresh 93 Oct. Low and behold I come across a couple Mustang GTs playing with each other and I jump in behind them at a stop light. We're on an 8 lane road (4 each side) and I'm behind them. They're revving those nice sounding V8s. I decided to open my dumps and be noisy too. Hell I might need those 20 extra ponies if I'm going to be in this little pissing contest. The light turns green and they start burning rubber... amateurs, footfeet to the floor (as my grandpa would've said). I roll on the pedal letting them pull ahead a couple feet to give me room. Then the turbos spool on the G70, "oh shit I need more more room!" So I let off a little, just enough to slow down a little but still in it enough to maintain boost. I need enough room to change lanes and get beside them. I get the room and am switching lanes when second gear hits. It hits hard too and now I'm fishtailing a little but still pulling on the rustangs. I'm surprised at this point as the I'm a nose ahead when 3rd squawks and I catch traction. I can hear one stang sputter a little as he holds the gear too long. I'm a car length ahead when I hit 4th and all they can see are my tail lights.

We go a little further down the road, one of the two mustangs peels off in another direction. Me and the other one do a 40 roll once traffic clears. I think the G70 would do better at 50 or 55 as by that speed the mustang is in a higher RPM range and has some good torque built up. I still gained on him but not as much. I let off when hitting a 100.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance. I wasn't too sure but thought the mustangs would be faster than the G70. I'm sure they would be if I didn't have the JB4. I bet you AWD guys kill it even worse? Next up, CPI/intercooler upgrade and the diff brace. Probably be a couple more months before I do that though. Need to be thinking about getting more rubber on the road as well, maybe some 305s?

I watched On Patrol Live last night. They showed how the chief in one department chased and caught a Hellcat. He was playing in traffic too. Handcuffs were involved.
