  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I own a 2010 genesis sedan 4.6...interested in adding a subwoofer and amp to the lexicon 17 spkr system. Thinking about a Rockford Fosgate sub and a Alpine amp...Anybody have any suggestions to this effect?...I wouldn't attempt it myself but does this install pose any problems?....also will I be able to control the volume of the subwoofer separately instead of using the normal radio controls...(bass, treble, midrange)...

Much thanks
Rob

Volume control of the aftermarket sub itself will be entirely dependent on the capability of the aftermarket amp to have a remote bass volume/level control.

Adding the set up shouldn't be difficult. The signal can be tapped from the Lexicon sub on the rear deck. If your aftermarket amp has high-level signal inputs, the Lexicon sub signal will go right into the amp. If the amp doesn't have high-level inputs, you will need to buy a Line Output Converter in which it will provide low-level(RCA) to the aftermarket amp.
