  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This may have been addressed in a prior thread, but could someone confirm for me that the Genesis V6 with the Premium Package (not the Tech package) does NOT have a sunglass holder by the Bluetooth buttons? My user manual does not say that the sunglass holder is optional or part of the Tech package, but the dealer is telling me that a V6 Genesis with only the Premium package does not include the sunglass holder. Is that correct? THANKS!!!:

I also have the V6/Premium and had the eame experience; no way I could figure out how to open the sunglass holder. My guess is that on models with Bluetooth, the Bluetooth guts are inside what would have been the sunholder.

The V6 w/prem pkg doesNOT have the sunglass holder.
The V6 w/tech pkg DOES have the sunglass holder. Also has the phone button on the wheel.(left side instead of the scan button)

Thanks guys for the response. Not what I wanted to hear, but at least I now know. Shouldn't have been that difficult for Hyundai to have provided Bluetooth and a Sunglass Holder in the non-Tech Genesis. Shame on them.

Thanks again!

Thanks again!

I bought a small silver sunglass holder at Sam's Club for about $2 and clipped it on the driver's side sun visor. The silver color matches the headliner/visor fabric color...and solved the problem.

A built-in holder would have been nice, but a $2 solution wasn't bad, either.

Honestly I have it and don't even use it. 95% of sunglasses holders in cars are too small to fit "modern" sunglasses designs where the frame is bent and doesn't fold completely flat.

I have the base V6 model (there is not enough head room for me to have gotten a package with the moonroof). I have tried to open to sunglass holder on my vehicle, but to no avail. It looks like I have some bluetooth bottons up there (a phone symbol, +, - and something else) but not sure since I don't have such a device.

ditto! i use the 'sunglass' holder in my Camry for my garage keycard for work. works just fine for that purpose, lol.

but i was wondering about missing sunglass holder too; for keycard purpose, lol.

wait a minute, mine was BASE Genesis V6. is bluetooth a standard feature? or an optional feature with extra money?

now i am getting a bit confused...

Bluetooth is not an individual option. And it looks like it comes with all USA trim levels.

You can program your garage door opener into your HomeLink system that has controls on your rearview mirror. See page 4-39 of the Owners Manual.

There is also TSB 08-BE-012 called "PROGRAMMING HOMELINK MIRROR TO GARAGE DOOR RECEIVERS WITH ROLLING CODE TECHNOLOGY."

You can download copies of the Owners Manual and TSB's here (thanks to one of our members who put up this site):

Edit: I keep my company badge in the slot next to the Smart Key holder on the dash (right above the ash-tray).
