I am driving a 2012 V-6 Genesis loaner while my R-Spec is in the shop. This loaner has the factory sunroof deflector.
The sunroof without the deflector is noisy, noisy, noisy - so much so that I normally use it at speeds less than 40 mph.
The deflector reduces the noise to a very tolerable level, a level that is comfortable at 65 mph.
The deflector is not pretty, but I suppose one could get used to it. But, if you are a smoker then I think the deflector is something to strongly consider.
Also, when parked on hot days one can crack the sunroof open about 3" with the deflector and obtain much better ventilation than just cracking open the rear of the sunroof.
