  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Opened my sunroof fully on my G70 today and when I was out of the car and looked at the sunroof I noticed something odd sticking up. Seems at some point the left hand side of the seal had disbonded from the frame and allowed it to stick up and get caught in the sunroof movement so it tore the seal along the corner area so it no longer is in one piece. I probably have a good 16 to 20 inches of the seal no longer stuck down to the frame. I have not yet had any sunroof squeaks or rattles just as FYI. Car has 19.5k miles and is garage kept always. I removed the glass so I could get a better look at replacing the seal. New seal from an online dealer is like $73 so ordered a new Genesis seal to install. With the glass being out I’ll wipe down the whole frame area and reapply some silicon grease along the new rubber seal once installed.

Hopefully that works out well. Please keep the forum posted on your repair progress.

Well, seems the freaken seal is on National back order so my internet order was cancelled. I have a couple of pics of the damaged seal and removed sunroof, but I’ve always had issues attaching pictures for I always get a file too large error from this forum. Apple does not really give me the option to take a lower res picture. iPhone thinks it knows better than me on what the image size should be. Anybody know a work around to be able to attach a picture I’m all ears.
