  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience with pieces of their sunroof randomly falling out.

Closed the sunroof while driving last week and felt something land on top of my head/shoulder. Thought something had flown in the window but they were rolled up at the time. So I look down and there was a piece of weatherstripping about two feet long just sitting there. Also the driver side bellows style weather stripping came loose from the sunroof glass. It was super easy to put both pieces back but I'm not sure how either of them got dislodged in the first place.

Same thing happened on our 2006 Azera. Caught it just starting to come loose last year on our 2011 Genesis. Got a 2013 this year and will have keep an eye on it. The mechanism must have a bit too much friction when the glass is opened and closed. No other brand I've owned has ever exhibited this issue.

yea mine happened last year you my '09. Hasn't had any leaks or anything, I just tossed it. Maybe I'm lucky I dunno but can only tell you from my own experience.

Wrong model year and different sunroof weatherstripping. Bigger and more common issue on the newer Gen 2 models apparently.
I wouldn't say it's a bigger issue on the G2's as it appear to be just cosmetic (just peels off at top but is still attached and so far no one has had leaks). In fact, you would not notice it if you did not look for it. I'd be more concerned with weather stripping actually falling off?
