  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking for a sure fire way to ID a 2010 4.6 that was sold with the Tech Pkg option installed on it. Sense taking the "word" of a dealer and or sales person is not an option it would be nice to be able to tell real quick from a few shots of the interior. Currently I first look for the (DIS) w/ multimedia controller and second the Adaptive Cruise button on the right side of the wheel. Would it be safe to say that if these two options are present that she is equipped with the rest of the tech options? 17 speakers/7.1 sound/DVD player/cooled drivers seat/ etc... etc... or where there any variations on this during the production run of 2010?

I have seen on some 2010 4.6's where the control knobs for the radio are on either side of the nav screen. Was that part of the tech package or an alternative to the DIS multi controller?

Again and as always thanks for your time.

The round multi-media controller knob right behind the shifter is absolute proof of Tech Package on Genesis Sedan, for any model year so far.

DIS Multimedia controller it is then......thanks folks, good to know what to bird dog on when scanning the for sale adds. There is a 2010 4.6 Black/Black Genny on Autotader right now that is listed as having the Tech Pkg but it clearly does not have the DIS knob.

I know in 2011 if you bought a 4.6 it automatically came with the Tech Pkg. Is that not so for the 2010 ?

I am pretty sure this is how it went:

2009: Tech and Premium were add-ons
2010: Tech was optional; Premium was Standard
2011: Tech and premium were standard

non-DIS console:

Ok so that's what the knobs are for, infact that is what is in the 2010 on autotrader now that claims to have the Tech Pkg but she has no smart cruise, or cooled seat, just the Premium Nav. I'll tell you those knobs must be for the passenger to operate as the one 09 genny I test drove you would need to really stretch to reach those knobs. Of course being 5'7 does not help but still!

As for people that don't know anything One fun genesis we all can't be smart and good looking ;-)

Lmao! I am just here to help! Being a former auto salesman, I know that nobody remembers those things! And the knobs are way far away :)
