  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sure hope!!

The new 5.0 retains its value better than a 2012 rspec I own. The dealer wouldn't even give me what I owed on my 2012. Yes, it has high miles, but it is very immaculent. I feel like I waisted putting all that cash down and paying an extra 60 bucks a month. The manager told me the market just isn't there since the changed the style. When I first brought my rspec you couldn't even find one. Boy have times changed. I'm very disappointed. Think I'll look for a Cadillac V, I'm done with Hyundai, they just don't hold their resale value. Unless of course they come out with a new rspec. Lol Just venting guys.

One benefit of lease it would seem. You don't have to worry about resale value. You just dump car at end.

Consider the price you pay for the new Genesis compared to a comparable Caddy. With the Genny you are saving on the front end.

Why do you think they discounted the Gen1 by up to $11,000? They wanted to get rid of them before the Gen2 hit the streets otherwise they would have been stuck with them. I would say it is normal to devaluate like they did simply because the new one is so much more improved in every way. The Gen1 was a great car and still is but the Gen2 took away the spotlight and unfortunately the retained value of the Gen1.

Tell the truth we find the big and benign full-size front-drive XTS sedan to be something of a guilty pleasure. Unfortunately, a boulevard cruiser like this falls short in today’s ultra-sophisticated luxury-car market. Consumer Reports cites the XTS as being among the industry’s worst values, and we think the Chevrolet Impala offers equivalent accommodations for less money. The biggest Caddy also gets low marks for initial quality and performance from J.D. Power and a below-average resale value rating from ALG.

BMW’s flagship sedan seems to have lost its edge in recent years. It’s wrapped in languid styling and just doesn’t feel as sporty as it did in earlier renditions; an odd product lineup includes an expensive and not especially efficient gas-electric hybrid model. Consumer Reports takes the 7 Series to task for being “a ponderous, technology-laden vehicle with ungainly handling,” and is included in the publication’s lists of lowest-scoring cars, worst overall values and most expensive operating costs in its class. Not to pile on, but it also gets a rock-bottom resale value rating from ALG and a below average performance score from J.D. Power
