  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Surging/non operational semi-autonomous driving

My 25 Prestige GV80 surges in the mornings while entering the freeway under moderate acceleration. Once the vehicle is warm, the surging isn't as pronounced. Had a light come on after we purchased and found the fuel recovery tank was broken and then fixed. On the freeway, use of the semi-autonomous driving mode is useless. After turning it on, you may get 10-30 seconds of operation as designed before the alarm sounds, and it shuts down. Yes, it does it even if you stare at the sensor on the steering wheel post with or without glasses. Keep getting a story that a fix is in the works. Does anyone else have similar issues?

Mine is terrible and unusable. I can use Lane Keeping or Cruise Control, but not both together.

I started a case with Genesis, but nothing happened. Called back a coupla weeks later and reported it as a safety issue (which it is) and suddenly they were paying attention. I am having it looked at next week for calibration. Fingers crossed, but a little doubtful.

I also reported it to NHTSA, which I think we who have the issue on our cars should all do. It IS a safety issue and makes a couple of important safety features unusable. If NHTSA hears from enough of us they’ll force Genesis to address the issue.

PS: I don’t have any surging issue, though. It may not be directly related to the Driver Attention problem.
