  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've noticed that the SVM will occasionally turn on when I'm stopped in traffic or at a light, but not always. What is triggering the SVM? I've noticed stopping under an underpass seems to trigger it, but I'm not positive if it is a consistent outcome.

I've noticed that exhaust from a neighboring vehicle will also make it go off from time-to-time. It's not uncommon as I've had this happed on several of my other vehicles that are not Genesis, but the GV80 does seem extra sensitive.

Mine will go off when I am stopped nest to a ford pickup truck.

Not only Ford. Many cars will kick it off. I think they put the level too sensitive. My old ride, an infiniti, never did this.

My Audi did it as well, but not as much.
90% of the time mine goes off, I am at a light and there is a ford PU truck in front of me.

In a year of ownership, I think this has happened a handful of times with my GV60P, usually when I am stopped at a corner (stop sign or red light).

I think that the comparison to how other brands used to perform on this is invalid. It would be different if you said that the Infiniti that you still have doesn't do this. I suspect that when you were driving that car, there were not nearly so many cars out there with their rear parking sensors powered while going forward. It seems that only in the last three (maybe four) years have many cars been produced with always powered ultrasonic sensors.

Common issue. Just push the botton on your console to turn it off temporarily.
