  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking for feedback from others on the performance characteristics of how their surround view camera works when pulling forward; such as into a garage.

When I'm pulling into my garage, the parking sensors activate for the front right corner and eventually front center. The surround view camera does not come on at all unless I manually turn it on with the button.

On my wife's 2018 Infiniti QX60, the logic in that system automatically turns on the surround view camera as soon as one of the parking sensors activates.

I was assuming the G70 would function the same, but mine is not.

Is this what everyone else with the feature experiences, or is there a setting to make this function pulling forward or is there perhaps an issue with mine.

Appreciate everyone's feedback!

No, you have to turn it on. You can go from reverse to forward and it will stay on, or hit the switch.

I have too much stuff in and around my garage parking area to trust the system fully. I have a 2x4 board I pull up to as a stop guide. Sensors are all beeping at me while pulling in.

I back in and use the right side mirror to see the distance to the door frame. If you are standing in the area where my car goes, you will get run over. If I stopped to check every sensor it would take me 15 minutes to back in.

I stop when I'm lined up with cabinet drawers. Garage is deep enough to give me a few feet front and back.

Bad assumption. They don’t work that way. The camera goes on
1 when you go into reverse
2 when you go from reverse into drive
3 when you manually turn it on at low speed

Its not a bad assumption, its bad logic on the part of the Genesis system.

Well, if it did then it would be switching on most times when stopped (at a red light) behind a Ford or certain other brands. I could see it as an option setting.

It doesn't in my QX60, unless it get too close. Infiniti's system logic for this feature works quite well.

Oh well, I'll get used to just pressing the button.

Thanks y'all!
