  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know in the older versions it was pretty simple, but not been able to find anything for the 2015's

Can anyone point me to a guide or any info on replacing the H with the Genesis wings. Thanks.

Lot harder than I thought it would be. Time to bribe my buddies with the tools with some beer.

It's actually very easy - the hardest part is making sure you take the time to mark out reference points (with blue painters tape or equivalent) to get the wings centered and leveled (as there are no locating posts). Take your time.

The emblem had already been switched by the dealer when I bought my car ... are most dealers doing it prior to the sale?

There was one dealer that tried to charge me $150 for it or I could have them remove it and wouldnt have to pay, so I think dealers can install it. That place was full of crooks, so when I have a chance, Ill head to my local one and see what they will charge. I know the part cost about $20 and install is about $20, so if its under $50, Ill do it.

My dealer in Scottsdale didn't charge and to be honest, I didn't realize until I read the posts on this forum that it was a mod.

BTW, this morning someone asked me if they could look at my Bentley. That made me feel good.

Nice. And ya, when I posted pics, everyone thought I got a Aston Martin and wanted to know when I won the lotto. Thats one thing I love about this car. If you didnt know it was a Hyundai, you would think its some 100k+ car.

Agreed. I looked at quite a few cars and would have picked the Genesis if all of them had been the same price.

It's really easy to do. I used a hair dryer, floss, and goo gone. That's all. Oh, and some painters tape to keep the alignment of the wing emblem before actually putting it on. I used these same items when switching the Kia emblems.

On ebay there is a seller named mobis something from California that sells these emblems with the tabs already cut off. I just bought one from this seller. Worked fine.

It appears that I was very fortunate. Before taking delivery on the car I didn't know that replacing the Hyundai emblem with Genesis wings was something that was even being done. As I was leaving, my salesman opened his desk drawer, produced a new "in the sealed bag" wing plate and asked if I wanted them to put it on for me. I said sure. As I'd missed the entire discussion on doing this, I was obviously pleased he was willing to do this for me. There was no discussion of cost (and there was none), he just did it.
Nice Touch!

Most like to charge money to do the swap.

Got my wing emblem as part of my deal; I threw that on the table after al numbers were worked out. I got my "we owe" paperwork signed. The only thing that stinks is that I have to go back to the dealer for them to install it. But it will look much nicer than sticking with the Flying H.

Do you have a link for this?

I placed the wing on the top of the H when it was removed, centered and taped it . I then put the H back together with the wing, from there, I taped the two ends of the wing. Marked its location and the rest was a perfect de-badging.
