  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So,had my 2016 Ultimate in for service ,and just now received a email with a free 3 month SXM trial offered. being retired really wasnt sure if I’d actually get the full benefits out of it but thought what the heck I’ll try it and see if it’s worth it.
short story told when it asked to verify my email received a notice that my radio wasn’t Eligible for the free trial…. Huh? 🥴
anyone every had this pop up while attempting a free satellite radio trial lol….

I see this offer on their website. New customers only. Have you ever had it?

I've had it in my last three cars. Commercial ratio is very annoying. I also stream it in the house and listen to it for about an hour at bedtime. Of course, there are other streaming services too.

Unless you've had the '16 Ultimate since it was new, perhaps the previous owner(s) was SXM subscriber(s). So for SXM, you wouldn't be a NEW subscriber and this offer is only for new subscribers.

Original Owner and No never had it, I’m going to look into ,commercial radio is for the most part getting to the popint All you hear is commercial’s

I'd call customer service and ask for an explanation.

I thought of getting rid of it once so put the FM radio on. Ten minutes later I knew to renew my subscription. Most of my listening is six stations. On a long trip I switch for a change once in a while. Never have to search for a working station every 50 to100 miles up the road.

Will give that a try,

My experience with Sirius Radio dates back several years and vehicles. When it first came out, I said HELL NO, I'm not paying $10 a month for Sirius radio! Around 2000 or so, I bought a car that had a 3 month tryout. So I gave it a go and liked it.

Now the question about $10 a month came up. At that time Sirius offered a lifetime subscription for around $300. In less than 3 years, I would never have to pay again!
AND I could transfer the subscription to replacement vehicles. So, yes I was in.

After about 3 transfers they told me I couldn't transfer the service again. I then asked to speak with a supervisor where I made a little NOISE and they've always "moved" my subscription down the line. My last transfer was to my '18 G80 Sport. I get the same noise every time that this one will be my LAST transfer. I should mention that there is a small fee for transferring service. I think it's $80 or less which is still a big bargain.

I'm guessing I've transferred my Sirius 6 times or more. A friend signed up for it about 10 years ago and he was told Sirius didn't offer transfers anymore with the lifetime package. The Willie Nelson channel without commercials is my home base.

I also just took my new (to me) 2015 in for my first service a few weeks ago and received the same email. I signed up, sent the code to my car and it worked. I did notice that I didn't have all of the channels however and I was unable to use the direct input to go straight to a specific channel.

Yesterday I did the nav/software update and since then I have all of the channels and direct input works. I do pay 4.99/month for Pandora so I probably won't continue Sirius after the trial, but it is something different and interesting. My biggest peeve with Sirius is not being able to skip to the next song or replay a song, a luxury I hadn't realized has become a necessity when listening to music with Pandora.

You can choose some stations to record, then you can repeat a song. No, cannot skip though.

Don't pay more than $4.99/month. I always call and threaten to cancel. Another good way is to message Customer Serive from their web page. The agents are authorized to offer $4.99/month for 12 months. With taxes and fees it is around $73.
I've been with XM since my '05 RL and always negotiated them down.
