System Nav Update

Has anyone been successful downloading a nav update to a San disc and then using the USB in the console? Took a half hour to download to the disc but then the car wouldn’t recognize anything.

I'm having the same issue (2014 5.0 r-spec). I have ordered three different USBs thinking that was the issue. Sub'd, and I'll let you know if I fing any success. GL!

Thanks! Yeah still haven’t pursued this any farther. I use my phone most times but it would still be nice to have the car up to date.

Every update I've done I've used the SD card. 32gb size is a must. Very smooth process.

When I had to update mine I used the update application you download onto your computer. When I downloaded it it was very specific about what type of medium should be used for the update. I would start there. They may require a DVD for the update.

I'm not familiar with mapNSoft but if you are going to spend money you probably should just go to the dealership develop a relationship with the service team and ask them how they would do it to gleam more insight. After they update it once I'm sure you'll be able to follow it up on your own.

MapNSoft is Hyundai/Kia/Genesis's software company that makes all the map updates. They are the one that the downloads come from. It's $25 plus shipping to order directly from them. Put the dealer in the middle of it and add at least $100 to that. Your choice. I believe that for that generation they will ask for a hardware serial number (viewable on the entertainment screen).

Just go to this site: Official Genesis Navigation Update Website

You can download their downloader and just download the update to your USB thumb drive or sd card and install it to your vehicle. If you do not want to do that, you can also order the update for your vehicle from the site. Once you get the new media from them, you will then again have to install it. Follow the instructions. It is really easy.
