  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2015 Genesis Sedan 3.8 AWD

I was washing my car today as it has been raining the past couple days and wanted to get it clean for the weekend. As I was drying my rear end of the car, I noticed my taillights had some condensation on the inside. This made me think of the recall from a while back, which I did take my car to the dealership for and have the work done. Do you think I should take my car into the dealer and have them take a look? Or am I overthinking it and everything will be ok? I tried to take a picture, but it was a little hard to capture it well.

My main question though is about an exhaust setup for the car. I have been browsing the forums on exhaust topics and its making me want to put something on my car. I like the sound of the V6 and wouldnt mind it being a little more noticeable, but nothing too crazy as it is a luxury car. I read a thread about the Dynomax VT mufflers and they seem good, but to be honest I know nothing about exhausts and have no idea where to start. In essence, I want a easy and cheap exhaust modification that is easily taken out if needed. This is why i liked the idea of the VT Mufflers as it seems they are just bolt on? Another idea I have heard of it taking out the resonator with a straight pipe, but i think like this would require welding and is not as easily to change out. Any ideas and thoughts of a easy exhaust mod is greatly appreciated.

You can take the car to your local muffler shop and ask for a quote on the best option for you. For example, you could ask what it would cost to remove the mufflers, replace the mufflers, add an X-pipe, etc. On my V8, I had it custom done at a local shop. X-pipe with Aero mufflers. Sounds like an AMG on steroids, love it :D

I think borla might have something for the V6, don't quote me though.

As for condensation, you can always check with your dealer to see.

I think you will quickly find that there is no "easy to remove and cheap" mod as you discuss.

If your taillights had condensation it may eventually lead for corrosion inside the lamp assembly. Try to take a picture with the lights on so the dealer can verify that you have an issue
