  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Whatever brand they use, it is apparently not Takata.

"The 10 automakers — BMW AG, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co., Honda Motor Co., Mazda Motor Co., Mitsubishi, Nissan Motor Co., Subaru Motors USA and Toyota Motor Corp. — launched an industry-wide joint testing initiative to get to the bottom of the issue.

Takata’s announcement means that automakers will have to review Takata’s findings to get the additional vehicles repaired. An 11th manufacturer — Daimler Trucks — also is covered by Takata’s new reports covering a few hundred vehicles."

Hyundai doesn't use Takata on any models, but many others do.
Even some American cars, along with a few European brands.

I believe that the defective air bags were made in Mexico.......That plant no longer makes air bags.

I just did an exhaustive search on the subject.

Hyundai is not (at this point) involved in the Takata recall.

The tire/tail light recalls were enough.

I don't know what the repair involves - but I don't think I would still want the car if each and every air bag had to be removed/repaired/replaced.

I think I'll go out and kiss my new Genny.
