  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As I do almost every morning, I stopped off at one of the five coffee shops in the downtown tourist area of Mount Dora, and got a Cafe Mocha to go. Placed it in the cup holder like I always do, and drove away. Then the thought hit me! If I should spill any liquid, it would go all over the DIS Controller and it would cause a lot of harm to the unit. (These things cost a few bucks to replace).

In previous cars, I have spilled liquids, but it only would cause a wet area around the shifter, easy to clean up, but if it happened on this car, "Beaucoup Problems" due to the location of the cup holders and Controller.

To prevent problems, if it should ever happen, (short of not drinking anything in the car) I now place a cloth over the controller whenever I am drinking anything that will soak up liquids if anything spills. When not drinking anything, I keep the cloth in the left door pocket.

Good advice, and I'll add a tip that works for me to prevent spills:
I always ask for a "size" but in a larger cup. For example, a tall Pike in a grande cup. No worries about sloshing onto the DIS.
Still haven't eaten in the car. Sure that will change soon...
