  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm having trouble accessing our forum on Tapatalk. Worke dfine until I updated the app a few weeks back. No when asking for my logon credentials to the forum it gives me this error:

Log In Failed
Failed to process XML Data due to unknown error.

iPhone 6 8.1
Tapatalk V3.8.0

Anybody else having this issue?

Yes, I have the same problem on android. Stopped trying to use it.

A short time ago we were having server attacks from somebody in Russia trying to bring the site down. We managed to block them using a technique that has also caused issues with the Tapatalk plugin. It's an issue on our end - not Tapatalk. I'll be focusing on getting that back together as soon as I can. In the meantime, the "mobile" version of the site should suffice - and it should load automatically when you visit with a mobile device. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I appreciate the update... You and I spoke about this awhile back. Are you able now to narrow the "as soon as we can" a bit? End of year? Three months? One year from now? Not holding you to any exact timeframe.. Let's us know there is a timeline of some kind. Thanks.

The problem with a timeline is it may not work with our setup at all without "bandages" that will need to be applied every time there's an update to the security system - and updates happen quite frequently. There are so many security issues online and there's always a "way in" to a "secure system". Every time a "way in" is discovered - a new patch is created. If the system is altered it won't be updated automatically - which means we'd be insecure until made aware of the issue and then the code must be applied manually. That may sound easy but sometimes manually adding code breaks things in other areas. It may actually be easier to modify the "mobile theme" we already have to mimic the experience offered with Tapatalk.

I'm planning to upgrade this system to vBulletin 4 - which will allow us to implement a much better mobile theme that'll allow for just about all the same functionality we have with our full version and/or Tapatalk. I'm weighing all the options...

Appreciate the update on this and all your hard work on the forum. Did you create a thread talking about Tapatalk not working and I missed it, or is this the only one?

Personally, I find the full website view much easier and faster to navigate on my iPhone. When the mobile view pops up, as it sometimes does, I just tap the address bar and select the desktop view from the menu that appears below. Many folks don't realize that you can force a full website view in this way. I've never seen a mobile site that beats the full desktop version for ease of use.

I'm happy to do everything I can to make this community as enjoyable as it is informative... I didn't start a topic myself but there's another Tapatalk discussion going on in a couple of places here to my knowledge...

To the quotes below - yes, I generally prefer using the full version of websites considering speed is great and the view is fine on these new, big phones...

^ This. I never use Tapatalk or mobile view because desktop works so well on these giant phones
