  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know what the hold up is on the Tech pkg for the 2013 3.8. I assume that the 5.0 isn't available either. The only vehicles at my dealer are 3.8 with and w/o premium. None with tech and no 5.0's.

Hyundai website says that tech package has delayed availability????

Probably a software bug for something they were trying to improve on. Keep in mind that the fix may be waiting on Harmon International, who supplies the audio/video system, although it could be a problem with some other feature. Also, I assume you know there is no regular Genesis sedans with 5.0 in 2013, only the R-Spec. I believe it is called the technology package, not technical package.

2 newly listed 2013 5.0 R-Specs are now listed on Cars.com 1 is White, 1 is Black. This means that the tech packages will be available in 3.8 soon as they reach dealerships.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I saw a bunch more Genesis rolling of the ship last week. But I didn't notice any R Specs. 2 reds, 2 blacks and the rest were white or gray.

My dealer called today and they told me that they had rec'd a 2013
Genesis R' spec which obviously includes the tech package available on the 3.8 tech pkg.
This would tell me that the 3.8 with tech pkg should be available soon.
Has anyone else heard anything on the R' Spec or the tech pkg for the 3.8. I live in Indiana. ...the Hyundai website still shows Delayed Availability for the Tech Pkg.

I have had two issues with my 2011 4.6 Tech package.

1. I was driving down the highway and the volume to XM, radio, cd and everthing just turned off nothing would provide audio. Everything was still there just no audio?

2. Today, the tech system just reset while driving and then turned back on. Thoughts?

I received a call from dealer Friday 12/21 that they will be getting a 2013 Genesis 3.8 with the the Tech Pkg.
I had sat down with salesman and discussed what I wanted: 2013 Red or White Genesis with Prem and Tech Packages.
Hyundai website still shows delayed availability but evidently they are becoming available. They have a R-Spec on the lot which has the tech/prem standard so evidently they have it all worked out.
Anyone else have any knowledge on this???

My White 2013 3.8 with tech package came in Saturday. It suppose to snow/rain here Monday. I plan to have dealer install Wings on wheels, trunk, hood and steering wheel. I had all but hood on my 2009 (prem only). Will then pickup Tuesday.

I've to wait months to get one. Very limited availability for various reasons. Had a guy come into restaurant recently thinking it was a Bentley. I had to eventually tell him what it was. I've several similar situations, especially while driving.

My 2011 has done the same thing about 4 times in 10,000 miles of driving. Not sure what the issue is.

Apparently Hyundai also isn't sure what the deal is. I assumed part of the reason for switching head units in the 2013 was to rid the Genesis of this particular problem. It is disappointing news that this issue is still present in the 2013.

It happened to me once with my 2011 4.6 Tech package. I started the car after work and everything was there except audio. I came home and parked the car. Next time I drove audio was back.
