  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I got an automated call today saying that my new car warranty would expire unless I immediately responded with a payment (unspecified amount). I called Hyundai instead and was told to ignore it. They said it was a scam. Somehow the scammers had obtained a list of new Hyundai owners and were making these calls.

Has anyone else received this call?

I have been getting those for the last year or so, before I ever bought a Hyundai. Apparently the scammers are robo-dialing random numbers. My friend had a brand new phone number and started getting those calls on the first day.

I highly doubt any of the information came from Hyundai, although I wouldn't put it past a shady dealer to sell that info. In CT, it got so bad that the state attorney general opened an investigation into the companies doing this.

You can also get robocalls about your home mortgage refinancing, but extended auto warranty is a popular one because I think the companies that sell those warranties are all crooks and there is a huge amount of profit in selling them. Most of the time I heard they don't even pay out if you do file a claim.

I'd been getting these calls as well - for about a year. I never picked up and only listened to the voice mails. I suppose they gave up...
