Temporary fix for cracked and chipped windshield

At just under 1k miles, my GV70 got hit by a pebble....twice. On the same day.

One of the chips turned into a 3-inch crack right away and the other one is still a chip. I ordered OEM replacement via dealership but it won't get in until mid-February. Any suggestions on what I can do in the meantime to prevent them from getting any worse? I saw chip repair kits on Amazon for about $10 but not sure if it'll work for the crack. TIA

Btw really do love driving this car and I am not a person that enjoys driving!

No personal experience but a friend had his patched for about $50 a couple of years back. It was a local glass shop. Held up at least until he sold the car a few months later.

Had a mobile guy with good reviews do mine, stopped the crack nicely and faintly visible. Already had a few wide temperature swings to the 20s, and is holding up well.

Better than what I could do, paid 60 for two hits - one was 3” spider, the other was a star with one leg.

I got hammered my a truck outside of a Reno snow storm. Good new is the chip is high and to the left mostly out of sight but it's there. Took it to a local glass repair in Eugene and they "filled" it so hoping it does not spread. It stinks but the cost of driving today's roads..

2022 GV70 CHIPPED WINDSHIELD-- what the heck Genesis??
Chipped windshield with less than 7,000 miles on the car and chipped paint on the front from normal
driving on I-95 in Florida.

I don't ever recall a car's windshield and paint chipping so easy and so quickly after purchase. Only variable in 40 years, its my 1st foreign car. Might be my last.

It happens. How I know? I had my 2009 Toyota Highlander 1 week, and got a chip while on the highway...I could actually see the stone arching through the air...it was like slowmo. Sold the HIghlander, which riddled with issues, for a 2013 Santa Fe XL Ltd....again, in the first week....same thing happened. Side note, my Santa Fe was by far the least problematic vehicle I have ever owned.
