  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Tesla have FSD and my 2015 Genesis have CP Auto Turn Control, better driver assist than Hyundai LKAS & SCC.

Openpilot / Carrotpilot with my Genesis keeps getting better by the months. When I started this venture 5 years ago, I had no idea what was in store for the future, now 5 years later and 2 car modifications, I am very satisfy with the outcome. It started by me reading a thread on this forum with the title,

"YES your Genesis can SELF DRIVE!!!"

And very soon, I can add, "Enter your destination and enjoy your Genesis ride". Thanks to a Korean coder CarrotMaster and his CarrotPilot, this is very possible. Check this out, this is actually my car doing the first USA beta test of CarrotPilot's AutoTurnControl feature using Mapbox & Waze navigation for turns and roads speed limit data. This is still a work in progress, but it has come a long way the last 5 year.

Comma 3, I did a power steering computer mod, this allows openpilot to steer down to 0 mph, without that mod, openpilot will not steer under 35 mph. The other mod was scc radar mod, this gives openpilot full longitudinal (gas & brake) control, this allow a fully configurable following gap, acceleration and deceleration, slow down for curve, etc. Each modification took about 45 minutes, also note these mods does not interfere with the stock Smart Cruise Control and LKAS operation when openpilot is disabled.

Just got my Comma 3x a couple of days ago. Love it so far on the highway. Did you make the cables for the SCC and Power steering mods yourself? I've been all over discord to understand how to implement the mods you did. The inability to steer under 37 miles an hour is a pain. If you got some documents, YouTube videos, or purchasing links, I'll take all the help I can get.

Yes, the inability to steer under 37 mph sucks. I did both mods myself, you really don't need any special cable just a special coded panda and 2 pair of twisted network cable and a little technical spirit. I did my SMDPS mod 5 years ago when I was very new to the openpilot world, since then I have learned a lot. I just completed my radar mod 2 months ago. You can also catch me in the discord @D. Fyffe. When you are ready I can assist you with docs, over the years I have assisted a few people with this mod, just a few days ago I assisted an openpilot enthusiast from Italy with his smdps mod. My wife say "openpilot is my 2nd wife or maybe first".

Wow! The people over at Comma need to hire you. I'm a technical person by trade, but when it comes to electrical, especially coming to my vehicle, I get a little squirrely. But since I plan on keeping this car for a while I decided to splurge and get the navik for carplay/AA, myKey Premium and the 3X. Thank you for offering your help! I'll definitely hit you up on discord, it'll come from Darkness5400. I'll be swamped with work this week, but I'll be more free next week.
