The End of Bluelink--Dec 2021

For those that used Bluelink, I received an email tonight telling me that after Dec 2021, it is no longer. it operates on 2G, yes, you read right, 2G.....that technology is so old no one wants to support....and I can't argue.

Correct, it is going away on some older models with 2G but not all. Hopefully they will come up with a new module you can add.

The receiver for BlueLink would have to be upgraded. I don't know if there would be enough call for one for a third party to develop one.

Unfortunately, the way technology moves this sort of thing can happen. Like trying to run Windows 10 on your 386 computer.

Sound like good ol' planned obsolescence. I got the email as well. The technology is present in the vehicle. Why not just provide the means to install your own remote start? may be piggyback on the existing system?

Got an email back in June stating that these services will continue through Jan 1, 2023. We get an extra year.
