  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

While on a call I have had multiple people say they can hear themselves talking (echo)

Good coverage area and it’s multiple people.

Anyone have this issue? If so is there a fix?

Thanks

No, mine has no echo. What phone are you pairing with your GV80?

The echo will be a function of your phone. I am not an iPhone user, so really cannot say much about your phone. Have you tried rebooting the phone and then try it to see if this clears the issue problem. In most cases with the Android phones I have owned, the echo was because of the tower I was connected to. Even if I had plenty of bars.

I don’t think so when I take it off the Bluetooth it works fine and I never had a problem with the same phone in my BMW

You could try to reset the head unit and see if that helps.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and have no such problems. As stated, try resetting Infotainment (Setup & Map pressed together until restart) AND reset your phone (Vol up & power pressed together & hold until 'Apple Logo' starts up.)

I also have a 23 GV80 Prestige and an iPhone 13Pro. I’ve had no problems.

I have a 2023 GV80 and I have the exact same problem. While on Bluetooth, I cut in and out. While connected to CarPlay the callers hear an echo. I have reset everything. I have an iphone 13 max.

delete the phone and blue tooth connection and reconnect. That works for me.

I believe I have done that, but will do it again to confirm. Thanks for the reply!

This happens on other brands and models.

Just the nature of cell phones.
I think it has more to do with cell towers.

Hi Everyone,

Post the fall update, whenever I take calls via bluetooth and carplay, the person on the other end gets an echo, it didn't happen before this update. Can some help me with this problem?

edit by admin: This is a known issue as described here:

I am having the same issue and it is horrible. Not sure how we can get feedback to them.

It’s happening for me with CarPlay. Bluetooth calls work fine.

The CarPlay echo started after the last OTA on two different gv70s.
I know an exact solution for this.
First, go to iPhone shortcuts -> automation -> make two automations.
1. “When carplay connects, set bluetooth off”,
2. “When carplay disconnects, set bluetooth on”

Since carplay do not use bluetooth when you make a phone call(they use wifi or wire connection), you should disconnect bluetooth to reduce that echo and any microphone problem. If not, both carplay and bluetooth will try to use your microphone at the same time, which makes an annoying echo.
Hope this helps to solve your problem!

Are these automations in the Phone's settings, or in the Device connections screen inside the car?

Its on your phone. Go to shortcuts app (from apple), then you will find automation.

I tried your trick, it still doesn't work, the person on the other end can still get the echo
