  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The mystery about transmission hard shift is finally revealed (TSB for HARSH 2~3, 3~4 OR 4~5 UPSHIFT)

Considering it is a completely different transmission in the 4.6 - I'm highly doubtful. The same trans is shared by the 3.8 and 5.0, starting for the 15 model year.
Dam, so is there no known way to try to fix this issue in the 4.6L? Cuz my 2012 4.6L is having the same hard shifting issues as the others....

Agreed. However regardless of the type of the transmission, hard shifting is attributed to a number of things, starting from ATF issues, clogged filter, solenoids, worn valve body all the way up to internal transmission parts... I recommend approaching the problem in the above sequence.

Hi
How to properly perform TCM relearn? Do I need GDS and choose proper option, or just need to perform standard 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 drive with proper ATF temperature, as mentioned in service manual? Or maybe both? What are differences between those two procedures?
I had my solenoids replaced some time ago, things improved alot, but after 1.5 year there is still some hesitation when tranny changes gear from 2-3 and 4-5. All other gears' changes feel much more smooth. Thanks

I have a 2015 3.8 rwd genesis. I think some sites call it a Genesis 14. Just wondering if the transmission filter is in the pan or separate? Many thanks

On this site it is referred to as the G2 (2nd generation Genesis), or DH (chassis model). For 2015 and 16 I have also seen it identified by year and then "G80" in quotes. Pretty much everyone on here knows what you are referring to in any of these 3 approaches.

The filter is in the pan. It comes as a single part # assembly.
