If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So, while it's a hoot to live in beautiful Pennsylvania in the spring, summer and gorgeous fall, the winters can be a little rough on a car and keeping it clean is a full time job. SOmetimes impossible. And this winter has been non-stop snow. So, if you live in a sunny climate all the time, wince at what we Northeasters have to contend with!

In the Driveway. Even when the snow melts, the salt, and crud on the highways is still around.

Did get some sweet Weathertech Full Floor Mats. Really helps in this weather. I love them!

Hah, my poor Genny looks about the same right now...I live in north NJ. Got the WeatherTech digital fit mats myself too. They really contain the crud all winter, come spring time I just hose them off and the carpets still look good! I've been contemplating going to the car wash, but it's not even worth spending the money because some sort of snow has been in the forecast every few days:o

Yeah plus most don't do a good job pre-rinsing before the car goes in so the surface salt/sand is just getting ground into the paint.

And that's another good reason to live in the south!!! :p

I travel 5 days a week.
the joys of leaving the rental car up north and traveling back home to Florida are two fold.

One, someone else has to clean all that salt and road grime off the rental car. They look like your pics in only one day.

second, i get to drive my rspec upon return

Where you get those weather mats from, I destoryed my mats with this damn snow!

I believe if you paid some research group $100k to study and recommend the best way to destroy cars they'd come back and tell you to scatter salt on the roads in the winter time. Freeze/thaw/freeze/thaw a few times and now you've got salt in the tiniest, least accessible little crevices in the shell and working parts of the car.

If I still lived back there I'd rinse my car off every night.

I hear you, i live in CT and we are due to get snow tomorrow and this weekend, i just washed the car on Saturday after waiting in line for 2 hours, lol northeast living is rough but that's what i signed up for

Yeah, it's funny, living in the Northeast, I often wonder what it would be like to live in an area where you can actually keep a car clean all year round. :) Ah well, it ends eventually, and out comes the the Clay Bar and Waxing.

But, I really do like the Weather Tech Fitted mats (or buckets as i call them) I had rubber deep mats before, good ones, but was still cringing about the salt and grime getting on the rigs - but these WT mats are awesome. I don't care about tracking in snow, salt, etc, because I know it's not making it's way to the carpet. Spring is only a few months away....
