Thoughts on Genesis Connected Services

Hi all,

I'm a proud owner of a recently purchased used Genesis G70 3.3T Sport. However, since I purchased the car used, I don't get the 3 yr complimentary Genesis Connected Services. I know I can purchase it separately so I was wondering if anyone is willing to share their opinion on it. The dealership near me confirmed that I can buy it but hasn't yet given me a price. Obviously the price will be a big factor on whether or not it's worth purchasing, but I'd like to know from current owners if the service is implemented well, any problems, etc. Thanks all.

I won’t be renewing mine when my 3 years is up. I rarely if ever use the services

I will be renewing mine when my 3 years is up. I use mine all the time (Locking, remote starting car for cooling in summer, heating in winter, checking to see if i remembered to lock car, ie status, sending destinations to car)

There are a couple of tiers of service you can get. Not sure of latest pricing but it can be up to $300 a year. If you like to remote start your choices are, pay for the service or get an aftermarket remote.

One of my favorite things is the "send to car" for directions, but that is the top tier. I'm not sure I'll pay $100 for the level that includes it though Remote start is reasonably reliable and handy. You can put a widget on the phone screen to make it east to connect and start. I'd recommend signing up for a year and decide for yourself. Considering the money you spent for the car, not a major thing to try it out.

Does Genesis Connected Services have an anti-theft function? So if the car is stolen, police can track its location? Like what On-Star can do, or LoJack?

Thanks EdP - super helpful link. I'm also considering buying used so I won't have the benefit of the 3 yr complimentary service, but I think I'll just buy it for a year and see how useful it is to me.
