  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have noticed that my side view mirrors do not allows tilt down when backing up? Is there a certain length of time you need to be in reverse or some other factor that determines whether tilt down or not?

Make sure your window switch is not in the middle position but pushed to one of the mirror sides

AHHH, thanks. Odd but...

When the switch is pointed to the right only the right side mirror will go down. When pointed to the left both will go down, and when left in the center neither will move.;)

I have not tried it lately, (or re-read the manual) but if memory serves me, when the switch is pointed to the right, only the LEFT side mirror will go down. When the switch is pointed to the left, BOTH the left and right mirrors go down.

I could be wrong, so I will try it tomorrow.

Goodness.... I'm sleep deprived... :( I thought the title said "Tinting side view mirrors". - I was about to lay the smack down... but I think I need to lay it on myself, LOL!

No, I was wrong. (Gulp). I tried it today, and when the switch in in the "right" side position, only the right mirror tilts down. (When switch in the "left" side position, both left and right mirrors tilt down).

when I read your last post it didn't make sense it tilt the left mirror only when people would mostly need the right mirror to tilt.

It is a great feature to have (if one remembers to use it). I have it on my vehicle and have found it great when trying to parallel park near a high curb. I just don't always remember its there (doh!). With my vehicle, the car must be in Reverse as well...not sure if that is the same with the Genesis. Just another example of Hyundai getting it right.

I couldn't find this particular section in the manual (maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough) -- thank you for this info! I hate, hate, hate the tilting feature. :D

Hi Guys! This is my first posting, by way of introduction. As ImInPa said, this feature is a nice way to avoid scraping your wheels or tires on a high curb.:)

You are correct about this...I saw it in the manual, but it's not clear about switch positions. I had to play around with it until I found what was what...
