  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got my 2nd 4.6L Genesis, a 2011, after lease was up on my identical 2009 car. One MAJOR annoyance that I have found is when I use the bluetooth and/or voice command system, there is a 2-3 second lag that did not exist on the 2009 car. I have the same phone, and when I say, for example, "call home", in my 2009 I would hear the nice lady's voice say "call home" right away

Now, I have this older bitchy woman's voice, and she waits at least 2 seconds before she annoyingly says "call home"

People on the other end of the line say there is a voice lag as well, similar to the news networks doing a feed via satellite where they ask the question and it takes a couple of seconds for the person to hear/answer.

Is anyone else getting/had this lag? As I am used to great response from the 2009, I hate this delay. Please respond if you might have a solution for me.

Thx

Delete the blue tooth pairing with your phone and reinstall it. Before you do that make sure you have the latest software downloaded into your phone from your cell provider. This fixed a simillar problem with my wife's Blackberry.

No one has mentioned the voice lag in conversations, but I have noticed the significant increase in the time it takes the Equus to respond to a voice command when compared to the 2009 Genesis I owned. The Equus seems to say "pardon" in response to commands much more than the Genesis did, leading to a lot of repeated commands.

Warning before you upgrade your phone - I upgraded my Storm II to the latest soeftware and now the volume when using Bluetooth is significantly lower, even at maximum volume on the car. Wish I never upgraded the phone.....

There may be a setting your phone to increase the volume when paired. My wife's blackberry has it.

I've looked, can't find it. It would be great if you knew the setting and passed it along.
