  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just wanted to thank everyone here for being so informative and helpful for the year that I owned my Genesis. Unfortunately, I decided on a mid life crisis limb to trade off my 4th Hyundai for a 2011 Camaro SS. I stopped in for a quick look up close and ended up buying one. Thanks to the great resale value of the Genesis there were no issues with trading in so soon in its life. There are some things that I will truly miss about this forum and the car itself. Again, thank you for being so great here and let me make it perfectly clear that I had NO issues with my Genesis whatsoever! I loved the car and will miss it......except when I put the Camaro's pedal to the metal! Take care everyone! Maybe someday I will buy another Genesis for a winter car. 426HP on snow and ice in SD will be dangerous!

congrats. i have driven a bunch, rode in, etc. Heck SLP is 5 miles from my house and i've seen their SS's before anyone knew they were doing them.

i would be in your boat if it weren't for my one of my best friend's owning a powerhouse performance company which has allowed me to live in that world almost every waking minute lol.. i have been to more magazine shoots, events, shows, etc i can honestly say that i am numb to a stock Camaro SS. thank god because it is an unbelievable how much money that car will cost you in the end if you begin to mod it.

here's a vid of one of the first Camaro's in NJ (after it's been somewhat "modded") plenty of articles in Super Chevy and GMHTP about this one.

you can hear it slip into 5th at the topend of the track. well beyond the stock trans' limits lol.. look at that mph..134?? crazy. car has since gone into the 9's on the stock bottom end.. driven to and from the track and is the owner's daily driver, AC, 22mpg at a hwy cruise.. they are amazing vehicles.

Best of luck with yours!!

Will the 2011 camaro be safer in winter? I thought about this car as well as the 2012 Jeep grand cherokee SRT8 with 465 hp. But it only gets 16mpg avg. The camaro for me was not as comfortable to sit in for too long a time. I used to have a vet and again it too was back torture & uncomfortable over long distances... So now soon as it arrives at my local dealer I will be getting a 429 hp and a great comfortable cooled/heated seat & steering wheel with the 2012 r-spec sedan genesis. Anyway best of luck to your new car choice and touch base with us all on how well you like the car after you had it a year.

i would think that he needs just a couple months to decide how livable the camaro is as a daily driver. enjoy the ride, but let us know how you feel in a month or 2.

You should have kept the Genny and bought the Camaro for the fun. Many times a 4 door car is much more useful as is a large trunk. Thats why my wife and I have cars for our different needs.

Same here. Her's is the Vette which I find extremely comfortable on trips. It also has 21 cu ft of space behind the seats, but when we need to carry more than the two of us, the Genesis comes out to play. We also have a Malibu Maxx LT as a beater for carrying oversized things.
