  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello! I am in need of replacing the timing chain on my 2012 sedan 3.8

I am having some issues locating the correct part/kit online and was wondering if anyone could assist with a reliable source or part number to work off of. It seems like everything I come across is for the coupe. Is it the same kit for both 3.8 models? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Click fitment to confirm your model is listed. It fits over 30 models so I'm guessing yours is one of them?

What did you do that warrants a new t-chain?
Well, the vehicle has just gone over 100k and I had been hearing the loud rattling upon start up for a little bit. I took it to a shop and they diagnosed it as needing a timing chain/tensioner replacement.

Yea. If it needs a tensioner then may as well replace the chain.
