Tint shop in Orlando area quoted $249 for LLumar CTX nano-ceramic and $379 for Huper Optic. Does it sound reasonable? Any personal experiences with these tints?

Go with the Huper Optic, it's a great film, and you may want to get a few more quotes. Depending on region, this price seems out of the park high for $379

Yes, I have. I've already written about it a little bit on this forum. I suggest reading posts #70 all the way through #87 here for some insight.

Additionally, depending on your budget, keep in mind that - last I heard - the tint later referred to in the above linked thread ("Diamond Cut IR") is available for purchase and international shipping. So, even if you do not live near the SF Bay Area or Greater LA, this film may still be an option for you.

... I haven't written any updates about my family's experience with it yet, but after 15+ months the Diamond Cut IR still looks great and works as advertised. For those interested in the very best tint for their Genesis, I do recommend looking into it.

Was this for 5 windows? I had a quote for front (almost clear), 5 windows plus sunroof for $600 cash (no sales tax), so your $379 is pretty good. Much better tint from what I have read. I believe it also has a better heat/sun reflection which in Florida and with a blue Genesis would be a great benefit.

$379 was quoted for sides and rear only. No front, no sunroof.

Just made an appointment with another Orlando area tint shop to install Huper Optik 30 sides and rear for $350 plus tax. Owner of the shop will be doing it in my own garage on Monday. Works for me

Let us know how you like the tint please. I'm still on the fence. Here in the Nashville area, there is only 1 guy who does Huper installs, and he is very proud of it. It's about $250 more than the next best product. I'm not sure it's worth the extra money, but with the heat reduction properties compared to the next best, it might be worth in the hot Nashville summers.

That is an excellent price for that film, although in FL tinting prices seem to be significantly cheaper than anywhere else in the country. I was quoted $450 a couple of year ago (not in FL). I went with Formula One Pinnacle instead.

One thing about Huper Optik is that it is thicker than most other tint materials and harder to install on even slightly-curved windows, so that is one reason some installers charge so much for it.

He quoted $600 + tax. But if I paid in cash, he would do it for $600 total. That was a "clear" windshield, and all other windows (including sunroof). If I wanted to get the Huper body kit (including above tinting) it was $1200. This is the film that covers the painted panels (like 3m). I haven't done it yet, but will probably look at getting it done in the near future. I wonder if we can get a better deal if we get both done at the same time? There is only one guy at that location that is the Huper installer, so make sure to talk to him (don't remember his name).
