Tips for SD card install?

Just got fedex'd the 13.5 update from MapnSoft. Would like to install and think know how as the instruction book that came with it was quite clear. But, just to play it safe, I'd like to know if there are any useful tips that I should be aware of. And, would I be right with the assumption that I'd have to go on a 30 minute drive while updating? Thanks.

Hardest part is getting that rubber cover open. Pop old one out, new one in.
While driving you will not have radio or the backup camera. As you are driving along and you suddenly hear music again, it is done.

I just turned on my car and sat in driveway while map updated. No need to drive around.

I drove around it didnt take as long as I read. I had radio most of the time, but when I didnt I opened the valved on the exhaust and listened to that wonderful sound.

Pried it with a small thin screwdriver. once you pop an edge it comes right out.

This works on the G70? Looks like maybe you have an 80? Oh & we r close, I am in W Bradenton.

I used my fingertips to pull up the bottom of the card cover. The top of the card cover (on my car) has two small tabs that fit into the top rail and wiggling them loose allows the cover to swing free. Mine has two small strap like things that keep the cover from coming completely free and falling away. There is plenty of room to pull the old out and fit new in. The original Card is in snug but a firm tug straight out does the trick.

To get it out, I thought you pushed on it and it popped part way out. Enough to grab onto and pull out completely.

Correct...you should NOT tug on it. Once in and you want it out...give it a push and it will come out partially...then you pull it out.

That's some good advice there. Useful in the car as well as in the bedroom!

you can just download the latest version to any SD card and then pop it into your car

There must be an SD card in there to work. You should have one already. You can update the existing card to the latest version as pointed out by JonnyThrice.

In the center of the dash under the CD slot there is a rubber cover to pry open.

Hello all knowing Ed! After I down loaded the update with the SD card. It asks me everytime I start the car is I want to update or cancel. Do ya know how I can fix this? Thank you sir!

I recall someone have the same issue but do not recall the resolution.

Did it install it? What happens if you cancel? Does it ask again?
Have you tried a re-install?
