  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Will a 275 40 19 fit on the front of a 14-16 Equus? Am I correct in assuming the front and rear rims have a different offset? Will a rear set up fit on the front?

If I remember correctly, one other guy on here got his car back from the shop and they had incorrectly installed his front wheels on the back and back wheels on the front. I don't recall him having any drivability issues right off the bat because I think he said he was driving around for a while like that.

That would be a little embarrassing for everybody involved

Has anyone successfully put the rear tires and wheels on the front made it work? I know the tires are bigger and the rims are a different size and the offset is different by about 1/2 inch. I just want to know if it is possible. If it is I might buy 2 more rear wheels and put them in the front. So all 4 would be the same size. Would need to space the rear about a 1/2" to make them even. Comments, thoughts? Thanks guys! 2014 Equus.

But, why? Wider tires in front will negatively impact steering feel and increase wear on steering and suspension components. Spacers in the back will likely cause the tire to rub the fender.

Who would you trust for suspension design?
A group of Genesis engineers that did thousands of miles of testing with different sizes and combinations of wheels and tires
or
Some guy with a better idea to simplify it

Some things are fun to play with. Other have a reason to be what they are.

I am well aware of the engineering. I hauled test and prototype vehicles for 27 years. I like to push the envelope. An extra inch of rubber up front is not going to drastically change the Dynamics that much and a 1/2 inch in the back will not rub. Just want to know if anybody has attempted it before. Before I do it myself.
