Tire pressure reset to new pressure???

How is this accomplished?

What do you mean? There's nothing to reset. After you drive a little ways (probably less than a mile), the current tire pressure readings will update for all four tires.

I changed the “set” pressure a bit lower on the rear. I want to reset the pressure so that it doesn’t alarm at me prematurely.

So you want to set it to alarm lower that what Genesis engineers deem to be a safe driving pressure? Don't think they allow for that. You'd probably have to re-program the computer.

Different tires require different pressure, so I would have to assume there’s a way. Maybe not.

But at the same time, if I wanted to increase the pressure, when fully loaded, it wouldn’t alarm until the tire is dangerously low.

I used to have an Audi and when you refilled the tires, you then reset the computer pressure to match. It then used a 10% decrease before alarming.

My late model Mercedes also allows you to adjust the low tire pressure warning light settings based on the most current tire pressures…

I’m currently running 43.5 psi’s in my GV70 19” tires front & back… the factory specs are too darn low…

Possibly the GV70 low pressure threshold adjusts itself automatically after the last known tire pressure reading… I doubt that it’s a static setting that never changes…

So why 43.5 in the tires. I am novice on this item and keep it at what they say on the door, 33F and 37 R. Thanks

I like a firmer ride… so the factory settings for the OEM 19” Michelin tires are too low for me…

Higher psi settings might also result in slightly better gas mileage because it lowers the tire rolling resistance…

Higher tire pressures also results in less sidewall flex which makes for sharper cornering…

It’s a personal preference… most owners would rather have a softer ride… and the factory recommended settings will just be fine…

Except in limited cases, Audi, VW, and Mazda all go without TPSMs. They use the ABS system to measure rotational speed of each wheel. The "SET" feature just tells the computer to record the current relationship of rotational differences. The car will flag a "low tire pressure" warning when one wheel goes too far out of the "SET" relationships.

Actually, most Audi's are now equipped with a direct TPMS monitoring system that dose NOT use the ABS computer to measure rotational speed differences as it's been found unreliable in certain circumstances.

For example, my 2018 RS5 had an ABS TPMS system, and in 2020 a direct system was made standard.

Either way, both cases had a a reset tire pressure setting.
