  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I got my 2012 4.6 a couple of months go and had a serious noise problem with the tires. The dealer said that the car sat and created flat spots on the tires. Well, they tried doing a few things to get the sound to go away. Nothing helped and now they are going to replace them...

Currently, I have the Michelin 235-50-18 Energy saver. They are offering the following as replacement:

Energy Saver A/S
Pilot Super Sport XL
Pilot Sport A/S Plus
Pilot HX MXM4

I am an easy driver and prefer a tire that provides the smoothest, quietest tire I can get. Performance is secondary to me.

What would you recommend?

Try the Michelin website. They rate their own tires on several criteria, and their ratings should be useful when comparing one Michelin tire with another Michelin tire.

Thanks for the responses... i live in Raleigh, NC, so, we don't get a lot of snow (funny i say that as we got an ice storm yesterday). My car came with a flat spot on the tires (the dealer said the car sat). nonetheless, i really haven't been able to enjoy the car (1500 miles) that much as noise really bothers me.

If the Energy Savers are a safe bet, then I'll go with them. Being that I have those options, I figured I'd ask. Anymore help would be appreciated.

They scored 9.0. The Super sport scored 9.1. 9.0 is good imo.

The OP stated he was offered HX MXM4. The Primacy MXM4 are different tires (the 9.0 rating).

Correct, the Primacy and Pilot are different. The Primacy MXV4 is very quiet, but not available for Genesis 18" tire sizes. Not sure about the Primacy MXM4, but might be a good choice. Michelin rates its own tires relative to one another as to which are quietest (and other factors).

Generally speaking (exceptions may apply) Energy Saver tires are not the quietest available.

I missed the HX . You are right about size not available in the mxm4 primacy.
