  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This generally happens after I’ve stopped at a stop sign and take a 90 degree left or right turn. One tire will often chirp and that is probably when the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. I do a lot of big city driving, this happens a lot.

This is during low speed driving, like 5MPH. no issues with higher speed driving.

‘21 Prestige (not sport) AWD 3.3T.

You can't accelerate hard when turning 90 degs. You can only get on the throttle after you're more or less straight. Normal. And T/C is probably intervening.

I'm driving 0-5 miles per hour in city traffic, I'm not accelerating hard.

Acceleration was too hard during turn. Vehicle lost traction, that's why you heard tires chirp. Could've also been something as simple as gravel/sand/dust in the road.

Happens to me sometimes when I pull out of my driveway. You do not have to be going a high mph for it to happen. All you need is too more torque during the maneuver and the tires will chirp. Try to keep in mind that the vehicle has almost 400 ft-lb of torque.......as a stock vehicle.

If it's happening in a sharp turn, it's likely due to weight transfer to the outside, so the inside rear wheel has insufficient weight to maintain traction. I'm guessing your AWD does not have LSD. With an open diff, the AWD will only transfer torque when it detects slippage.

Even with LSD, because it's mechanical, it will still allow for a limited amount of slip, as its name suggests.

AWD version has slightly taller ride height, compared to the RWD G70, so that tend to exacerbate cornering weight transfer a bit more.

Lastly, a lot of it could depend on the road surface. Very smooth concrete, especially those in parking garages, will chirp tires with the slightest turn.
